Rachel is a certified and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with a Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and founder of Optimal Therapy Solutions, LLC. She is pursuing certification in orofacial myology through the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM).
Rachel graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Pre-Professional Speech Language Pathology in 2015 and earned a Master of Arts Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Louisiana Tech University in 2017. She has received multiple ACEs (Awards for Continuing Education) from ASHA and has over 250 hours of continuing education in the areas of tethered oral tissues (tongue and lip ties), healthy mouth development, sensory and oral motor feeding, picky eating, orafacial myofunctional therapy, Tummy Time! Method, AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), and PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets).
Rachel’s passion for the nervous system and healthy mouth development/functioning stemmed from her own health journey and being dismissed by professional after professional in the standard healthcare system. Rachel uses a holistic and collaborative approach to assess/treat her clients and is committed to educating and empowering her clients with tools to help them thrive.
In her free time, Rachel loves spending time with her family, friends, and animals. She is married to Alex Marquardt, and they have two dogs and 3 chickens (so far!).
